MOISTURE and DECAY DETECTION

 I use a high-quality moisture detector and my knowledge of building design, building science and the home systems to determine the source and approximate levels of moisture intrusion. Because exposure to moisture levels above approximately 20% can result in decay fungus becoming active, I also specialize in the evaluation of wood structural members.

I use both non-destructive and pin-type moisture meters and can measure moisture in cavities and wood member interiors using 6-inch probes.

Because elevated moisture levels are necessary for wood decay to take place I combine various techniques to determine the potential for decay.
